Our little short round is 2 months old!
At Ethan’s 2 month well-baby checkup, he weighed in at 12lbs 5.4oz and measured 24.5” long. His eyelashes are growing as fast as weeds, and starting to curl out. His lashes are seriously prettier than mine. His droopy cheeks and double chin are outta control (that’s definitely a Poblete trait, aka my mom’s side). He loves story time, staring at the pictures on the pages, responding and babbling whenever he feels the need. His whole face lights up when he smiles, and his eyes get extra extra squinty. He coos and babbles in the morning while he’s on the changing table…he must love sharing the presents he leaves for us in his diapers!
We’ve been feeding him a mix of formula and breastmilk. He’s exclusively bottle-fed, which has been kinda great. Jordan assists with feeding, so Ethan isn’t reliant on me for every meal which gives me some free time to do other things. 🙂
We’ve been reciting the ABC’s, counting to ten, spelling out his name. We use flash cards, read books everyday, and play a mix of Coldplay and baby lullabies. I also play podcasts in the morning – The Tim Ferriss Show, Stuff You Should Know, The Economist Radio, TED Radio Hour – in the hopes that he catches on to the nerdy things we love.
I’ve been a bit over-protective, staying at home with the baby and not taking him out, except for a few family outings. I start to get paranoid about germs, public restrooms, the weather, UV rays, strangers, car rides, summer bugs, the list goes on…lol. To think, he’s not even toddler, and my worry meter is off the charts. I may have to take up Xanax.
Nonetheless, our little dumpling boy has changed our lives forever. We never knew how much we were meant to be parents until now. We are so very lucky, and very blessed indeed.
