My boyfriend and I celebrate an end-of-the-month…anniversary, if you must. We just started doing it, and I have a feeling it will be the start of a fun tradition for us.
Those of you who have been in long-term relationships know how easy it is to take things (and each other) for granted. There is the obvious annual anniversary, birthdays, holidays… but what about the rest of the year? Sometimes we go through days and months of the same repetition and mundanity; not that there is anything wrong with that of course. So Orlando and I decided to celebrate our relationship every month, at the end of the month. Why? We figure, it’s a blessing to be together…and it’s even more of a blessing that God has allowed us to endure another month in our relationship. I’m not speaking negatively at all but rather emphasizing the fact that despite our busy, mundane lives – through trials and temptations, thick and thin – we’ve made it through another month together. And that deserves a celebration!
We exchange gifts and have a special date night…and as cheesy as it may sound, renew our sentiments.
On a cheeseless note, here’s what Orlando got me:
The product description on the box reads:
These four tigers have no names because they are as wild creatures: The yellow tiger likes books, punk rock music, jogging and playing soccer. The pink tiger likes hot weather, staying at home, eating spicy food and playing video games.
The white tiger is the most aggressive; he is a natural born hunter who loves deer venison carpaccio. The orange tiger is vegetarian and is less aggressive than the rest of his friends; he likes surfing and relaxing on the beach.
I already have the yellow tiger. I was ecstatic to get the pink one – namely because it describes me perfectly. I do enjoy warm weather, and I am the ultimate home body…spicy food satisfies my savory cravings, and I am definitely a gamer girl to the core.
I got Orlando a 100pc Tupperware set. I know, not very romantic or unique. But it is practical and functional nonetheless. I usually end up taking his tupperware and never returning it – so now he has a set to last him forever! ^_^
Our end-of-the-month anniversary was sweet and special. Can’t wait for next month’s date. ^_^
