Finished Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng yesterday.
I really struggled with this book.
It wasn’t intriguing enough. Even though I know it turned into a Hulu show. I still couldn’t wrap myself around the middle-class melodrama playing out.
Actually as I’m typing this out, I realize that I need a book to help me escape reality or at least introduce me to a completely new one. I don’t want to read about present-day problems. The suburban life. First-world privilege. It’s not appealing to me.
I need to find another book like Where the Crawdads Sing or Circe. Give me a period piece. Or mythology. Or sci-fi. None of this suburban crap. Any suggestions?
