My boyfriend surprised me on my birthday with a getaway to LA!!!
He booked a room at the trendy W Hotel in Hollywood. Such a cool, swanky place. We weren’t in the lobby for even 2 minutes when from out of the bar, Jason Segel (from Forgetting Sarah Marshall) strolls right past us. I tensed when he passed by and I looked at Jordan…”OMG!!!” And THAT’S how our day started…and that wasn’t even the high point! 🙂
The room was immaculate. Very spacious and clean. The hotel even laid out some complimentary snacks and a note on the desk for us. It felt very kitschy, very LA. 🙂
Then Jordan gives me another present…as if the room wasn’t enough!!! Some spectacular vintage-inspired Havana sunglasses from Tiffany & Co. I was ecstatic! I absolutely love them!!!
So after a while, we freshened up and decided to check out the bar in the lobby. We had a bite to eat and some cocktails before we walked around. I kept my eyes peeled for any more celebrity cameos.
Afterwards, we went up to Drai’s – their rooftop pool/bar/club. It was wonderful.
A few residents were sunbathing by the pool while hotel staff were hurriedly clearing the area for an upcoming event. We had a few more drinks and laid around for a little while. However, we were actually on a reconnaissance mission to find a backdoor. Our bellboy mentioned an exclusive premiere party happening later that night for Taylor Lautner’s new movie, “Abduction”, and Jordan and I were both determined to sneak in somehow.
We went back to the room after our failed recon attempt and got ready for an afternoon of shopping & dinner. We strolled down Robertson Blvd for a bit. Jordan got me an awesome new Gorgeous at 30 sippy cup at Kitson…and I continued my scrounge for some glittery black shorts.
Then it was more cocktails and pre-dinner at Cafe Le Boheme in West Hollywood. We arrived earlier than expected and instead of the usual dinner he had planned, we did a short & sweet happy hour instead. It was an awesome little venue…reminiscent of the 20’s/30’s art deco era. I’d definitely go back there again sometime.
It was back to W Hotel for a short napbreak. Upon waking, Jordan ordered room service. And of course, he ordered a juicy steak with smoshed potatoes! It definitely was tasty. If only I had a photo to show!
Nate & Karina met us an hour or two later, ready to party 🙂 We had a few drinks in the room before heading to the bar downstairs.

After 2 or so more rounds, we were all a bit tipsy. We decided to crash the exclusive party at Drai’s upstairs. A few hours earlier, Jordan actually found a back entrance…and we were all crazy enough to try it.
So Nathan went in first, to scout of course. He got past the doormen & the staff…whoever might have been standing around on watch allowed him to get by because he said that he was just making a phone call in the hallway and that he belonged to the party. Nathan calls us on his phone and says we’re good to go. Perhaps it was the alcohol and the fact that we weren’t really thinking straight – but Jordan, Karina and I all go through the backdoor together (probably looking as suspicious and guilty as ever, lol)…passing the kitchen and the doorman that was on guard. We start making our way through the crowd when we hear a “Miss…HEY MISS!!!” followed by a bouncer grabbing the back of Karina’s arm with me and Jordan following her. “You’re not allowed to be here. We need to escort you off the premises.”
WE GOT BUSTED. But Nathan was nowhere to be found…probably already making his way around the pool and scoping out potential social circles.
So the three of us are rounded up into the elevator. But as the doors are about to close, in walks Sigourney Weaver and an older gentleman at her side. And at that moment, I didn’t care one bit that we were being scolded by the bouncer about trespassing or that he was reprimanding us. We were in the elevator with FREAKIN’ SIGOURNEY WEAVER!!!!!!! I don’t even remember what she was wearing…I had no thought of doing a once over. I was starstruck.
The elevator ride ended, much to my dismay, and we were escorted back into the hotel. Nathan met up with us a few minutes later…asking what happened to us. We explain, he laughs, we all sigh. It was worth a try.
The night ends. Nate & Karina go home.
But it’s a night that will go down in history. When we saw Jason Segel glance right at us. The night we almost crashed a Hollywood party. The night we were escorted out. The night we were in an elevator with Sigourney. The night of my 30th birthday.
All I have to say is…#JordanYouAreTheBEST
And thank you Nate + KP for coming out that night! Love you both! 🙂
